CAMPING
At Team GIO we believe that camping is an art - all about
providing a safe and comfortable stay. We maintain very
high standards of camping and with constant innovations
try to hone our skills. We lay a lot of emphasis on site
selection with camping sites on most of the treks being
pre-decided and used previously by our team. Equipment used
by is of top-notch quality and includes dome tents and 'A'
frame tents on single/double sharing basis, tables, stools,
camping mattresses, lanterns and a kitchen and mess tent.
MEALS ON
OUR TREKS
On all our treks we provide food that's tasty, hygienic
and nutritious. Our chefs are experts at keeping the team's
batteries charged with mouth-watering watering multi-cuisine
meals, at times under difficult conditions. Cuisine is decided
keeping in mind the profile of the group. Also on most of
our treks our clients get the option of trying out the local
dishes.
PERMIT ARRANGEMENTS
We assist our clients in arranging permits wherever required.
GRADING
SYSTEM
We have a system of grading all our treks. This helps our
clients in choosing a trek for themselves, as in most cases
they are the best judges of there own trekking skills. This
grading system is based on our own interpretation of the
difficulty level and can differ from other grading systems:
M - Moderate
On these treks one is not required to trek for more than
6-7 hrs a day. Also the terrain is not too difficult. For
these treks prior trekking experience is not necessary.
V - VIGOROUS
On these treks one can be required to trek continuously
for more than a week through remote areas and at times trekking
for more than 7 hrs a day. On most of these treks one has
to cross passes or areas, at times snow covered and having
altitude of more than 3800 m.
S - STRENOUS
These treks apart from having continuous trekking stretches
are at places technical and might require assistance from
trip leader and other staff people. All these treks have
rest days in between. Also all of them involve crossing
passes or areas having altitude of more than 4800 m.
