Camp Room on the Roof, True to its name, Camp Room-on-the-Roof is set atop a series of step farms overlooking the Viraatkhai valley, 25 kms from Chakrata. Standing in splendid isolation at an altitude of 1900 m, the camp offers breathtaking views of snow-capped Himalayan peak on a clear day and hold special promise for genuine nature lovers. Far from the bustle of urban life, all you are likely to hear are sweet bird songs and the rush of mountain winds sweeping across the valley.

A 45 minute drive from the camp brings one to the upper stretches of the Yamuna, the favoured river for the true whitewater rafting enthusiast!!

Each rapid in this section of the river comes hard on the heels of the previous one, creating a fast and furious rafting experience unmatched by anything the Ganges has to offer.

CAMP FACILITIES

Accommodation: The camp provides comfortable accommodation in Luxury Swiss cottage tents. The cottage tents are large and spacious (12’ x 12’). They are equipped with comfortable beds, mattresses, quilts, book racks, etc. Each tent has a separate toilet & washroom tent attached (a few feet behind).

Food: The camp has a full-fledged kitchen that provides you with hot multi-cuisine meals apart from all the cups of tea / coffee you might want.

EXTENSIONS
Drives: From Mori one can move on ahead to Shimla (229 kms) and Sangla (270 kms) on the Himachal side or to Mussoorie (135 kms). Also to get a complete picture of this beautiful region known as Jaunsar-Bhawar one can go on to the famous hill station of Chakrata (82 kms).

Recreation: There are plenty of filler activities like beach volleyball, cricket, river crossing and swimming to name a few.

ITINERARY
2 Days / 1Night
 

Day 1: Arrive at Camp Room-on-the-Roof by 0800 hrs. Post breakfast, relax and take in the fresh air of the camp. Depart for WHITE WATER RAFTING ON THE YAMUNA for 2 hours of thrilling non stop white water action on the hottest rafting stretch this side of the Himalayas. Picnic lunch on the river banks. Post lunch try you hand at the exciting sport of BRIDGE SLITHERING. Return to the camp in the evening. In the night, bonfire and dinner at the camp.

Day 2: After breakfast, drive 24 kms to Chakrata and from here trek to TIGER FALLS (you could also drive 45 kms to a point near the Falls, from where the Falls is a 20 mins walk). The trek is 4 kms and after all the twists and turns that the trail has to offer the beauty of the sight of this roaring falls is awesome. With mist spraying all over and water gushing from over a 100 ft, a dip in its pool below is refreshing beyond words and a feeling that you will remember for ages to come. Packed lunch will be made available for everyone on the trip and you could depart for your onward destination from here. Alternatively you could remain at the camp and head out for a session of ROCK CLIMBING & RAPPELLING following which you could have lunch at the camp and depart for your onward destination.

3 Days / 2Night

Day 3: Early morning set out on a HIKE in the surrounding forest. Return to the camp for breakfast. Post breakfast, head out for a session of ROCK CLIMBING & RAPPELLING following which you could have lunch at the camp and depart for your onward destination.

Day 2: After an early breakfast, drive 3 hrs to the roadhead for the trek to Mundali. From here trek to Mundali (3 hrs). Once in Mundali, set up your camp and then explore the surroundings. Overnight camp in Mundali.

Day 3: After early breakfast start trekking back towards the roadhead. From here drive to Tiger Falls. The beauty of the sight of this roaring falls is awesome. With mist spraying all over and water gushing from over a 100 ft, a dip in its pool below is refreshing beyond words and a feeling that you will remember for ages to come. Packed lunch will be made available for everyone on the trip. Return to the camp in the night for bonfire and dinner.

Day 4: Early morning set out on a HIKE in the surrounding forest. Return to the camp for breakfast. Post breakfast, head out for a session of ROCK CLIMBING & RAPPELLING following which you could have lunch at the camp and depart for your onward destination.

By Air: The Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun) is the nearest airport and is connected by daily flights from Delhi. The drive from the airport to the camp would take 4 hrs.
By Train & Road: The nearest railhead to the camp is Saharanpur or Dehradun. There are a number of trains that run between Delhi and these two stations. The drive from Saharanpur would take 3 hrs and from Dehradun would take 2½ hrs.
