Camp High 5, GIO’s premier riverside camp stands on the banks of the Alaknanda at Jayalgarh (near Devprayag). It is connected to a National highway as well, making it easily accessible from New Delhi. This is the perfect getaway for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. If the Alakhnanda offers a unique rafting experience, the surrounding hills are ideal for activities like rock climbing and rappelling. Short, scenic hikes and beautifully isolated glades full of exotic birds and butterflies add to the magic. The tents are spacious, each with its own independent toilets and washrooms with running water offering you all the creature comforts of home amidst the rugged terrain making for an unforgettable outdoor experience.

CAmp FACILITIES

Accommodation: The camp provides accommodation in Large Luxury Swiss cottage tents ((12’ x 12’). Each tent has two cots with comfortable bedding and quilts. The tents have attached bathrooms with running water. The toilets are dry pit with western seats and are clean and convenient.

Food: The camp has a full-fledged kitchen that provides you with hot multi-cuisine meals apart from all the cups of tea / coffee you might want.



Paragliding & Mountain Biking
(minimum of 4 pax required)

Drive down from the camp to Khandisyan. From here mountain bike 5 kms to our Paragliding site through unpaved terrains. Here you could take tandem joy rides with our professional instructors. The joyrides would be for 1½ to 2 mins or more.

Post the paragliding activity, you would be dropped back to Khandisyan from where you bike down on paved roads (slim traffic) to Deoprayag for 32 kms for a pure downhill thrill.

Mountain Bikes used: Front and rear suspension, alloy chassis.
Camp to Camp time: 0800 – 1730 hrs
Cost: Rs. 2500 per person (includes bikes, packed lunch, snacks and vehicle support)

Mountain Biking
(minimum of 4 pax required)

The surroundings of the camp provides beautiful stretches for mountain biking. The bikers will be dropped off at Buakhal (1800 m), about 6 kms from Pauri (1750 m) and 2 hrs drive from the camp. It’s a beautifully curvy ride down unpaved trails, all the way to Chamdar (1200 m), on the banks of the Alaknanda river. You pass villages like Khirsu (1850 m), Bugani and Dewalgarh. The section is very thin in human population and you get wonderful views of the snow clad Himalayan peaks during the trip.

Rafting
(minimum of 4 pax required)

Upper Alaknanda (Gauchar to Rudraprayag) – Drive from base camp to Gauchar, 68 kms away. Raft from here to Rudraprayag, an 18 kms stretch. Experience Khakar rapid which is a Class IV rapid.
White Water Class range: III to IV
Raft time: 3½-4 hrs
Camp to Camp time: 0800 – 1700 hrs
Cost: Rs. 2000 per person (includes packed lunch, snacks and transport)

Upper Alakhnanda (Gauchar to Dharidevi) – Drive from base camp to Gauchar, 68 kms away. Raft from here to Dharidevi, a 32 kms stretch. Experience Khakar rapid and Rocky Brothers rapids which are high on the list of great rapids to run.
White Water Class range: III to IV+
Raft time: 5-6 hrs
Camp to Camp time: 0800 – 1700 hrs
Cost: Rs. 2500 per person (includes packed lunch, snacks and transport)

Bhagirathi - Drive from base camp to Koteshwar dam and raft down to Deoprayag, a 24 kms stretch.
White Water Class range: III to IV+
Raft time: 4-5 hrs
Camp to Camp time: 0800 – 1700 hrs
Cost: Rs. 2500 per person (includes packed lunch, snacks and transport)


Kayaking

A basic course in Kayaking in eddies (anti currents) of the Alaknanda river, close to the camp.

Class range: Still water, eddies and/or minimum currents
Duration: 1½-2 hrs per person
Cost: Rs. 1500 per person

  • Payment for this trip will not be adjusted against any future trips
  • Cancellation policy
    >21 days: Full refund (after deducting any expenses that have been incurred for transport, etc.)
    14-20 days: 75% of trip cost will be refunded (after deducting any expenses that have been incurred for transport, etc.)
    7-13 days: 50% of trip cost will be refunded (after deducting any expenses that have been incurred for transport, etc.)
    <7 days: No refund

By Road: The distance from Delhi to the camp is 300 kms and would take about 9-10 hrs. A vehicle could be arranged for the trip and would cost the following:

From Delhi drive towards Ghaziabad. Before Ghaziabad city take the highway towards Meerut. Before Meerut city take the Bypass to Muzaffarnagar. Do not enter Muzaffarnagar town and take the bypass towards Roorkee. Go past Roorkee to Haridwar continue towards Rishikesh. From Rishikesh take the Badrinath highway and drive towards Byasi – market place. Drive for another 6 km to reach Kaudiyala and continue till you reach Devprayag. From Devprayag continue to drive for 34 km to reach Srinagar (Gharwal) town. From Srinagar drive to Rudraprayag (34 km drive ). At Rudraprayag take the Kedarnath highway and drive past Tilwara and Agastyamuni. Another 16 km drive will bring you to Kund. At Kund take the Ukhmat route and drive for 2 km to reach camp Verdant valley.
